Most of the time you will read about Toxic Goddess Dame Lebeau being the model in a piece of artwork that Robert Henry or I created. Well, Dame Lebeau is a great artist in her own right and to prove it she had a piece accepted in this February’s world renowned erotic art event, The Dirty Show, in Detroit Michigan.

Here’s an interview with Toxic Goddess Dame Lebeau about the art show.

1. Please tell me about the piece that was accepted into the Dirty show.

Dame Lebeau: The piece happened during one of my spontaneous needs to photograph myself. As I photographed parts of my body I had an idea of what it was going to be or what it could be. I did not really have any idea thatI would be so pleased with the end result.

2. How does this piece fit within your greater body of work?

Dame Lebeau: This piece subject wise is very similar to what I normally photograph. My favorite subject is the self. I can not imagine a better way to discover who I am as an artist and model. I have not before constructed a collage. I am very happy with how a collage can create a story that flows.

3. How do you feel about having work in the Dirty Show?

Dame Lebeau: I am very excited about having my piece in the Dirty Show. This is my first real show and I am just going along with the new experience.

4. One of the fundamental tenants of Toxic Goddess was to be an engine for creating artwork and a family of creative people. Does Toxic Goddess serve that purpose for you? Please elaborate.

Toxic Goddess does a great job in encouraging artists to grow. It is run by two great artists, Robert Henry and Dirk Hooper. I cannot help but, to feel inspired when seeing the work they are able to produce. With every shoot I do for TG, I learn more and more about modeling and about photography. I consider us to be a small family and as a family we like to see each one of us grow creatively. It all points back to Toxic Goddess and that is something I believe in.

5. What projects are you working on this year?

I am forever working on more self portraits. I think this year I will work toward having more of my work seen publicly.

Thanks Dame Lebeau! I’ll run Robert Henry’s interview in the next few days, because he got a piece in the show too!

OKLAHOMA CITY, November 3, 2009 – World-renowned fetish photographer Dirk Hooper had two pieces chosen for Art Scene Today’s “Erogenous Zones” international juried competition. The exhibition will be available for view on Art Scene Today’s website for the month of November and showcases erotic art from New York, Virginia, California, Colorado and Oklahoma, to places as far away as Hawaii and Germany.

Dirk Hooper’s photo “Pink Kitty” won a third place award in the “Erogenous Zones” exhibition and features Austin Texas professional dominatrix Mistress Kitty. The piece was culled from a series of fetish photos taken over a day-long session. “I really enjoyed working with Mistress Kitty and it’s great to just have one of our photos accepted into the show, but to have the piece win an award too is very exciting,” Hooper said.

Hooper’s second photo accepted into the show is “Inked” with Toxic Goddess Dame Lebeau. “Inked” has the distinction of being accepted into three different juried shows. The piece was also a part of the Individual Artist’s of Oklahoma “Biting the Apple” exhibition earlier this year and last month’s “Dirty Show 10.5” in Detroit Michigan. “I’m proud to share this accomplishment with Dame Lebeau. It’s so much fun to work with her that she makes my job very easy,” said Hooper.

“Erogenous Zones” will be available to view during the month of November at the Art Scene Today website located at artscenetoday.com. Dirk Hooper will be the featured artist for one week starting November 23rd which includes a large representation of the “Pink Kitty” photo, an artist’s statement, bio and a short interview available on the site. DETROIT, MICHIGAN, September 23, 2009 – Fantasy and fetish photographer Dirk Hooper will have the piece titled “Inked” on display at Dirty Show 10.5 this coming weekend. The Dirty Show, currently celebrating its tenth anniversary, is a juried international erotic art exhibition that presents artwork of over 200 artists from around the world. This is Dirk Hooper’s fourth appearance at the event.

“Inked” is an extremely limited edition giclee print, custom printed by award-winning fine artist Robert Henry. The piece features a photograph of Toxic Goddess Dame Lebeau in a pose that showcases the extensive tattoo artwork the model has on her naked back. The process Dame Lebeau goes through to select an artist for her work is very important, “I first realize an image that I simply can’t get out of my head and take it to one of my artists to plan out placement and style. Trust is a big part of it.” Dame Lebeau notes, “My John Lennon portrait was done by Kat von D in Dallas and my back piece of Krishna and Radha is the genius of Eric Poland at Electric Eye Tattoo in Tulsa.”

The collaborative efforts of model Dame Lebeau and photographer Dirk Hooper have yielded work that has been displayed in galleries and events across America and Europe. Dame Lebeau says, “There is an ease when it comes to working with Dirk Hooper. He makes me feel comfortable and is always open to any ideas or lack of ideas I have about a shoot. We gained many great images from our projects together and I am hoping for many more to come.”

“Inked” will be on display at Dirty Show 10.5, September 25th – September 27th, and again October 2nd and October 3rd at Bert’s Warehouse Theater, located at 2739 Russell Street, in Detroit, Michigan. In addition to erotic artwork, the event will have performances from burlesque troupes and various other activities. Toxic Goddess Dame Lebeau

Toxic Goddess Dame Lebeau

Here is a short recent interview with Toxic Goddess Dame Lebeau. The interview will be used in an upcoming press release for her modeling work for “Inked,” a piece that will be in Detroit’s fall Dirty Show.

1. Please tell us about your tattoos in the photo.

My John Lennon portrait was done by Kat von D in Dallas and my backpiece that is in progress is of Krishna and Radha and is the genius of Eric Poland at Electric Eye Tattoo in Tulsa.

2. Does having tattoos make you different from other models or even other women?

There are a grouping of tattooed models currently. There are even less of them who I would consider heavily tattooed. I am well on my way to being heavily tattooed. I think this is a concept that most women who have no tattoos or maybe one tattoo may not understand. I am different from other women/models of course. I just happen to have artwork permanently on my body that takes up a good portion of visible skin.

3. What thoughts go into the process of selecting a tattoo artist and what image they will create for you?

I first “realize” an image that I simply can’t get out of my head and take it to one of my artists to plan out placement and style. At this point, I leave alot of the creative decision making in their capable hands. Trust is a big part of it. I waited 4 years to have my back started. I wanted the timing to be right with where I was at in my life.

4. What is it like to work with Dirk Hooper?

There is an ease when it comes to working with Dirk Hooper. He makes me feel comfortable and is always open to any ideas or lack of ideas I have about a shoot. The “Inked” shoot came to be when I saw the posture collar among Dirk’s things. I wanted to work a shoot around simplicity, the nude form, and a sense of empowerment with the collar on. He took my ideas and just kept shooting. We gained many great images from our projects together and I am hoping for many more to come.
